Geocache Description:

This is the third of three 'nano' caches (i.e. tiny!) that I have placed in Swanage. If you like finding 'swops' you may want to forget this one, as it contains a log book only. Please bring you own pen. The cache can be found without moving any vegetation or stones.

This cache is located near to the Slipway outside Swanage Heritage Centre. It is a breath strip container, we have used a similar container for a cache we have placed in Swansea (GCVH4Z) and it seems to have worked quite well.

Hehe - hey, muggles - it's behind yoooouuuuu!

To open the container - you will see a slight groove at one end. If you place your nail in this and push gently, it should flip open just enough to remove the log book. If you have to force it too much, you're pushing the wrong end!

You may see the cache more easily if you sit on the ledge at the side / top of the slipway. Wheelchair users should easily be able to locate and retrieve the cache from the promenade.

There's really only one place it can be, so I don't expect you'll need the clue. Please make sure that the container is put back in exactly the same spot, so that it cannot be seen by muggles. Also, please ensure it is fully closed to protect against sea spray - thank you.

Thank you to Perthos for the idea for the cache container. These are frequently used in London, but this is the first one in Swanage, so let me know what you think - constructive criticism welcome!

Please note that this is deliberately intended to be a different type of challenge to other caches in the area. This is in a 'muggle-rich' area, and discretion will be needed. Kids may not enjoy finding it, as there are no swops. Also, I have to admit that when we first started Geocaching, we didn't find this type of hide to be interesting - we were more interested in visiting out-of-the-way areas and finding nice big containers. However, although we still very much enjoy finding containers up in the mountains, in the woods, etc., after visiting London, we now also think there is a certain satisfaction in finding a cache hidden right under the nose of so many passers-by. We hope that you will enjoy it too.

PS. One of the logs below mentioned that the cache had lost its magnetism - I think actually that they may have tried to affix it to the wrong item! Rest assured, the magnet is still nice and strong.
