Red Dragon Multi-cache

This cache has been archived.

winterdragon: I did a maintenance check today, and found the waypoint missing, the cache missing, and rubbish dumped near GZ. It was always a bit of a dodgy area, so time to let this one go to the great GZ in the sky. Thanks to all who found it over the years!

Geocache Description:

And so it came to pass that Sir Cachealot didst sally forth to seek the abode of the dread Red Dragon. After many days journey, he found the entrance to the dragon’s lair, and pondered his strategy for the battle to come. From where he sat at the entrance, he espied the tower of the wizard of Munnopara, where it lay behind the dragon's lair. Twas coloured in cream and brown, and stood taller than the pink tower of the witch queen Elizabeth which lay several leagues to the south.

So did Sir Cachealot journey to the tower, but alas the door was sealed by arcane magick. The door was marked with a Number of Calling that could be used to summon the tower's owner, the wizard Ericsson, but Sir Cachealot didst not invoke this Number, for wizards are quick to anger, and turnest thou into a newt.

Yea verily, Sir Cachealot was educated in the Mathemagical Arts, and did use this arcane magick to add together the 9 digits of the Number, then divide the total by 2, and subtract 3 from the result.

Then did Sir Cachealot return unto the entrance of the dragon’s lair. From there, he travelled in the direction of 95 degrees true, for a distance equal in ye olde metres to the number he had calculated.

At that place did he discover an ancient and holy Artefact, which did bestow protection from dragon’s fire. Thus protected, Sir Cachealot did boldy seek out the dragon, and did battle most fierce for a day and a night. After a most long and bloody battle, the dragon was slain, and Sir Cachealot did search for the dragon’s treasure, but twas not to be found.

After some contemplation, Sir Cachealot didst notice that during the battle, the Artifact hadst become marked on its base with a sigil, which gavest the location of the dragon’s hoard. Triumphant, Sir Cachealot rode though the forest of the Suburban Knights to the location, and there did find the dragon's treasure. Gold pieces and silver did it contain, gems and jewelry and enchanted swords, but alas, the grail twas not present.

And thus came it to pass that Sir Cachealot did leave the hoard, and continue his quest for the grail.
