How Geocaching Works

Geocache Description:

A time to finally meet up and say hello to all of those cachers that you’ve only known from either their cache hides or from reading their logs at other caches, or to say hello to the one’s you have met before, but haven’t seen since last fall. We plan on meeting at Jirdon Park in Torrington Wyoming at the posted coordinates at 1:00pm on Saturday April 28th 2007. Snacks and drinks will be provided.

We are also planning on collecting items from each attendee to create a traditional cache. We will provide the container (ammo can), logbook and pen & pencil. Be thinking of that one special item, travel bug, geocoin, signature item or any other special item that you'd like to bring to add to this cache. This cache will be placed commemorating this event.

The Spring Challenge Contest will begin at 2:30 sharp! and end at 4:30 sharp! You will be given the details of the contest at the event. We will tell you this much, you will need to bring your GPS, a keen eye and the will to win!! There will be 1st 2nd & 3rd place prizes for the winners of the Spring Challenge Contest.

There are horseshoe pits available at the park if you wanted to bring your shoes. There is plenty of room for Frisbee’s or tossing a football around as well. There is also playground equipment for the kids to play on.

We encourage cachers from all over to attend, we would love to meet you and hear your stories, ideas and advice.

We want to thank everyone for attending and making this event such a success! We couldn't of asked for better weather. We have made a lot of new friends and can't wait to meet up with you all again soon. We will do this again next spring!
