Travelin' Gnomes: As I am no longer in a position to check on this cache, and since it's been such a long time since it was last found, I think it's time to lay it to rest. Thanks to all who visited it and your logs, they have been fun.

Geocache Description:

A Cachers Lament

(Ode to a pair of Socks)

Oh faithful friend!
My ankles you did defend!

While out in the field
You did form a shield

Thistles and stickers that tried to attack!
You did your best to hold them back!

Now the battle is over
Their dried husks you will find
Twisted and stuck
In your weave of twine

If you weren't so worn
Were a little more thick
Then perhaps you fate
Wouldn't be so quick!

Oh the tragic cost of finding this cache!
That my faithful socks ended up in the trash!

If you seek this cache while the plants are green
Then the caching experience can be quite serene

But woe if you wait till all is dry!
For the "Cachers Lament" you will surely cry!!

If you made it this far congratulations! And my apologies for the attempted poetry.

Now a few particulars: We found an old well while placing the cache. See the waypoint and photo below and exercise caution if you go near it. Do not park on the freeway, or the freeway on-ramp or off-ramp. Parking should be done once you have reached a surface street. Yada..yada..yada. All that said....enjoy!
