This round-a-bout art serves as a dramatic gateway to University place. The art is of two eagles, perched atop boulders overlooking a cascading waterfall along with a nest and huge egg. “For the fun of it, I put a large eagle egg to go with the eagles…this gives the work a whimsical and fun feeling…,” said Internationally renowned local artist Doug Granum, who created the artwork.
The cost was about $16,000 from the City for the round-a-bout and approximately $14,000 from the UP for Art and contributions from citizen donations to the Beautification Fund. (Please note Mr. Granum graciously donated his time creating the eagles.)
This cache should be accessible to those in wheelchairs if you can make it up the small curb on to the "inner circle" and have a long reach.
