on Route
Tannaghmore Animal Farm and
Gardens
This section of the park covers a total of 100 acres and have fine
examples of rare breeds of livestock and poultry. The Barn Museum
exhibits traditional farm techniques such as haymaking and
blacksmithing.
The Parkland and Lakes
Round the lakes incorporates a range of habitats and is host to
skylarks, grasshopper warblers and a variety of wildfowl. Of
particular note is the wildflower corridor either side of the NI
railway line, abundant in June and July. This area is rich in
biodiversity and hosts a significant population of Orchids
including Bee Orchids - a key indicator of biodiversity.
Rushmore Shopping Centre
Found at the SW edge of the park and will provide retail therapy
for all your needs.
The Cache
The cache is a large tab locked box, it contains the log and a
number of trade items. It is suitable for Geocoins and Travel Bugs.
The cache is off the beaten track and can be found close to the MTB
cycle track. Go down the hill to the lake side for spectacular
views over the Southern Lake. The rating would be much higher if
you were to complete the series in a single round trip.
