Geocache Description:

This is a small cache in a lovely, lakeside Minneapolis park, "Beard's Plaisance",known to locals for decades simply as "Upper".
**Please be very careful of your footing (even in summer) once you get close**

This, my first hide, is about the size of a bar of soap, which you'll understand when you find it. It originally contained the log, 6 golf pencils (4 or 5 for swag, they're great!) and 5 little metal diecast sports cars (hurry!) Since it IS my 1st, I would greatly appreciate any comments you may have for me regarding the hide, appropriateness, advice, etc. (YOU remember when you didn't really know how to do any of this!?) Much Thanks.

--The land for this wonderful park (my favorite) was donated to the Mpls Park Board by Henry Beach Beard in 1888. He also donated Linden Hills Boulevard, (about 1/4 North), certainly one of Minneapolis' classiest streets.
--The picnic pavilion was designed by noted architect Harry Wild Jones and built in 1904. When a June 1982 tornado ripped through the area, the roof ended up in the lake and it had to be rebuilt.
--The pavilion can be rented for events from the Mpls Park Board
--"Plaisance" is French for "pleasure grounds"
--Have a pleasant find!
