Geocache Description:

This cache is situated next to a well known historical site in Newmarket known as the Mulock Estate.

The existing residence was built c. 1870. In 1881 it was purchased and enlarged by Sir William Mulock as a country home. Sir William was raised and educated in Newmarket and later became the Post Master General of Canada 1896-1905. He then became the Minister of Labour and later Chief Justice of Ontario 1927-1936. He died in October 1944 at the age of 101 years. The grandson, W.P Mulock inherited the estate and the house. It was renovated and again enlarged. In the 1990’s the farm was sold to subdivide but the house on Yonge was retained by the family.

The cache is a tiny camouflaged container. CAN NOT hold a pencil so bring your own. It is located in a small park in a residential neighborhood. From there, you can see what is left of the Mulock Estate. The house itself is set back from Yonge Street and is surrounded by trees. It may be hard to see, especially in the summertime. If you look carefully, you can see the birdhouse condo off to the right.

Please do not jump over the fence onto The Mulock Estates, the cache is located in the park.

We have changed this cache to a much smaller container as the first container was muggled.
