Geocache Description:

A pleasant walk along the Cumberland River Bicentennial Trail, not far from the Cheatham Lake Campground.

When an object is attached to the end of a thread and suspended vertically, you know what happens. The object rotates for a certain length of time, depending on the size of the object and the type of thread. However, when a spider is suspended from its thread, it is stable, doesn't move, and spins its thread in a perfectly straight line and always recovers its balance. Spiders can avoid uncontrolled movements in their thread, which could potentially attract predators. Likewise, this "thread" was chosen to avoid characteristics which could potentially attract mugglers.
