Geocache Description:

Take a stroll on the newest trail system along 'The Loop', the "Coastal Strand Trail". Cache is located almost a quarter of a mile from the parking area at Smith Creek Landing and is just off the main trail near something that definitely does not belong in the area. Look for the side geotrail off the main trail.

I've wanted to hike this trail system every time I get stuck waiting for the draw bridge. It starts as a forest stroll and then becomes a sandy path through the hammocks, weaving along the Intracoastal Waterway. There were many joggers and a few couples meandering the paths while I was there today, not to mention the largest gopher tortise I've ever seen.

The cache is a cammoflaged 6" x 6" Lok n Lok and has been packed with swag including a signature flyingpita chicken laying an egg and a FTF prize of an unactivated FTF geocoin!

I've placed another cache a little further down this trail so please keep hiking and enjoy the ecosystem!
