Geocache Description:

fairly easy cache. rough terrain. not in woods but there are many thorn bushes around.

This is the second cache in my NASCAR series. If you dont know me, Im a HUGE NASCAR ( mainly nextel series) nut. The name of this cache is a dead( no mean pun intended) giveaway. The driver this cache is named after is a true legacy in the sport. This driver is a seven time nextel cup champion.

Any true racing fan long awaits the day of Feburary 18. This is the true start of the long NASCAR season, the super bowl of auto racing, the DAYTONA 500. However Feburary 18, 2001 was not a glorouis day. The DAYTONA 500 started out normal. Then on the last turn of the final lap, Earnhardts car touched Sterling Marlins car. Earnhardts car collided with Ken Schraders car. The two cars hit the upper wall and Earnhardts car went sliding into the infield grass. At that point all eyes and thoughts were on Earnhardt. It was later found out that Earnhardt died on impact. His head whiplasheed forward and the main blood vessel snapped. Dale Earnhardt is truly missed and will always remain as THE MAN, THE MYTH, THE LEGEND
