GENERAL RULES FOR CACHING IN IRAQ: This cache is located in a war zone. It is on a coalition controlled installation. You will need proper credentials to gain access to the area. Do not post logs that give any references to what is around the cache site or might otherwise compromise OPSEC.
CACHE UPDATE: The cache is not in a 35mm film canister. It is slightly larger. Please only very small items if any.
This cache was placed during a recent trip to visit Al Asad. During my visit I noticed there had been no cache hinds in this area and wanted to introduce Geocaching to this area. The cache you are looking for is a 35mm Film Canister. The cache contains a logsheet only – you will need to bring your own writing device!! The cache is in a potential high muggle area depending on the time of day, so use care and caution while hunting this one. Please be sure to rehide the cache as originally placed after signing the logsheet.
This cache will be part of several others where I will be giving aware a 2007 Military Association of Geocachers (MAGC) coin. This will work as a drawing type event where I will enter the user name of each First to Find for the caches in the series (MAGC Lottery 1). Once I have hidden 5 caches and all 5 have been found, I will draw the name out of the ol’ hat to see who will get the true FTF Prize. This coin is one of the Silver coins that were limited produced at only 300 and are becoming harder to find. I will provide shipping of the coin to the winner, if not a local person.

CACHE UPDATE (Sep 2011). Cache has been moved to a less-likely-to-be-muggled location. Coordinates get you very close. As it is almost a new cache, a FTF-again "buggy" item has been placed. It's related to a non-profit that supports wounded soldiers. It has been temporarily "neutered" for your safety. BYOP.
CACHE UPDATE (Dec 2011). US forces have left Al Asad. Decided to leave cache behind with 'FTF-again' prize and also GC Info sheet with arabic translation. You never know who will pick up geocaching. Would like to leave it active for at least 3 years. If no hits by then, am open to inactivating it.
