Each cache in the Green Monster series contains one or two "monster
numbers" prefixed with "N" or "W". To determine the coordinates for
the "Green Monster - Final Cache" add up all of the "N" numbers and
"W" numbers.
For example:
Cache A - N +20° 10.000
Cache B - N +20° 02.000
Cache C - N +02° 00.300
Final lat - N 42° 12.300
Keep a record of the monster numbers you will find in the log book
of each Green Monster cache as you move through the series.
Consult
the Green Monster bookmark list for all of the caches in this
series.
One Week Headstart
In the interest of fairness, the owners of the Green Monster
geocaches will wait one week after the caches are initially
published to begin seeking them.

This stage of "The Green Monster" is located only minutes from
downtown Boston in the DCR Blue Hills Reservation. It is an
extensive forested area that stretches over 7,000 acres from Quincy
to Dedham, Milton to Randolph, providing a green oasis in an urban
environment. This section, shown on topo maps as The Crags,
contains some very interesting and rugged granite formations in a
natural woodland setting.
The cache container is a camoed 7.5mm ammo box. Use the Skyline
and Green dot trails to get you close and a short bushwhack will
bring you in to GZ. Parking can be had at a few gravel lots along
Wampatuck and Chickatawbut Roads, but most will find it easier to
use the St. Moritz/Shea Rink lot.
WARNING ! The Blue Hills are the native
habitat of two species of poisonous snakes, TIMBER RATTLERS and
COPPERHEADS. Always use caution while searching and NEVER do
anything that would harm these endangered animals.
