Jackache Ginger Traditional Cache
Off-Roader: Met up with KP at the trailhead and had him find the cache before putting it to rest.
This cache has took me to here that I have enjoyed over time and it was a pleasure to keep this one running for the original owner. Plan on recycling the container soon. Thanks to all who found it.

The 'official' name of this locally popular swimming hole is JACKASS GINGER. It is found downstream on the Judd Trail (State of Hawaii) which is maintained by Na Ala Hele. Trailhead is located at N 21.20.813 W 157.49.253. Parking is very limited.
Get ready for a rainforest hike adventure! Not recommended for smaller children, terrain can be dangerous especially in heavy rains. Please prepare yourself with the following: MOSQUITO REPELLENT (the heavier, the better!), water shoes for the muddy walk through leaves and slippery rocks and stream that you must cross (tennis shoes are not recommended as the soles slip too much), waterproof camera and GPS protection (always rainy and wet up here), towels and bathing suits. This may be a tricky find due to heavy overgrowth in places. If you need more hints or picture spoilers, especially if you are here from out-of-town and time is of the essence, please email. You must follow the Judd trail to the right (downstream) to reach Jackass Ginger swimming hole. You will know you've arrived when you see a big open pond that borders the backyard of someone's house. The cache is a rectangular Rubbermaid-type container with a blue lid. Contents when placed include: FIRST TO FIND TROPHY with CACHE COW (please take these home if you are FTF!), Two "Tsunami Capsules" with swag for kids from my 9 yr. old son, "Endurance" wrist band, Dice pencil sharpener, Birds I View signature glass bird bead & feather, Flashing whistle, Origami bird kit, Log and 2 pens.
Please Note:Do not leave anything vaulable in your car.Frequent cars get broken into once in a while. Terrain Difficulty has been downgraded to 2.5, however if conditions are exceptionally rainy, please USE CAUTION and COMMON SENSE, especially if you are taking children with you. This beautiful area is also in dire need of a CITO. There is a large garbage can just before you get to the swimming hole. Pack in a garbage bag or two, fill it up and either bring it back out with you or leave it at the garbage can there. Help keep this incredibly beautiful place clean! Mahalo!
