Geocache Description:

This cache is located in the Miesville Ravine Park Reserve, just a few miles east of Cannon Falls, or southeast of Hastings.

This is a two-stage cache, ending at the old Nelson place; the ruins of an old farmstead.

I stocked the cache with mementos that I have acquired over my lifetime. They all have meaning to me. Go after the cache regardless, but please, IF you trade, then trade something with personal importance to you (price is not important.

Initial inventory:
  • A chunk of native copper from the Copper Country of Upper Michigan where I was raised during my formative years.

  • A small piece of petrified wood from the Four Corners area of New Mexico where I lived for seven glorious years.

  • A copper-jacketed bullet slug (just the slug) that was probably shot at random, but landed safely next to my feet in a parking lot.

  • A tiny piece of natural amber that was given to me by some friends visiting from Russia about 15 years ago.

  • A small piece of gold ore that I found in the San Juan mountains of Colorado. You will need a jewler's loupe and some knowledge to see the gold, but it is there.

  • An amethyst crystal that was a gift from a once very good friend that I have since lost touch with.

  • An Anasazi pot shard that I found in the deserts of New Mexico some 25 years ago.

  • A sparking calcite crystal from a hot springs near Jemez Springs, New Mexico. I found this in the '80's, as well.

  • A clear marble that I have kept from my childhood.

  • A small Edison-style light bulb. Please be very careful with this!

  • A snail shell that I took from a pond when I was a child, and cleaned until it looked pristine.

  • A small pearl that I have no memory of, but it seemed to fit the collection.

Stages #1 is a micro, and the final is a 8" x 6" x 2 1/2" Lock & Lock. NOTE: Prepare to get wet if we've had rain or snowmelt! Unless you already know this park well, starting at the recommended waypoint will let the cache "unfold" for you in the best way.

PS: You may find a flashlight helpful for the first stage.
