This cache could be a quick stop off I-894 as it is on Layton Ave
between the Loomis Road and S 60th Street exits.
As you head to this cache be sure to enjoy the walk on the paved
trail. Konkel Park has public restrooms, bubbler (water fountain)
and pay phone at the shelter during the summer months. The
playground equipment is always popular with the kids.
The purpose of this hide is to highlight this latest
development to the park. Bring the geokids to explore the new
second playground completed in late Fall 2006 just a short walk
from the cache. There are future plans for a parking lot to the
east of this cache (current vacant land) and shelter (near
playground).
Park hours are sunrise until 10 PM. The park is patroled
by the Police to help deter vandalism after hours. Sorry, dogs are
not allowed in the City of Greenfield Parks.
Bring your own pen or pencil to sign the log. Please leave only
your signature in the log and no tradies.
The hide itself is winter friendly BUT the
snowbank from the plows might have this one buried until
spring.
