In Pedernales State Park, this boy scout merit badge series is for the hiker in all of us. All of these caches were placed with the State Park's permission. As always, stay on the trails until a few feet from the cache!
Welcome to the world of Eagle Scouts! A Boy Scout must earn 12 Eagle-required merit badges before he may earn his Eagle Badge.
The Camping merit badge is Eagle required, making it a staple to scouting. It builds the fundamentals of camping for the scout, giving them a hands-on experience. They face danger head on and do not flinch, lest they be overtaken by the raging torrent that is nature. After the scout has learned, he can do excruciating tasks such as pitching a tent, in the literal sense, cooking over an open fire, and knowing how to choose a worthy campsite.
