Geocache Description:

Another Altoona area World War II Memorial

The second of a planned series of seven caches, Altoona placed several of these sandstone pyraminds to honor the servicemen and women of World War II. This one was placed by the Lakemont Lions Club. The bronze plaques have been replaced by some unattractive ones, but at least no one's stolen them.

There is no parking at the Memorial. Best parking would be at Lakemont Park area, about two or three blocks away. Coordinates seem to jump around a bit at this site. The cache is a log only, so bring a pen. Please replace the cache exactly as found.
