An pretty easy geocache not too far from Donnelly's Corner, in Lake Clear, NY.
This geocache is a short walk from the road, but offers a nice chance to get away for a few moments on the edge of a big chunk of wild country (look at a map of the area, and marvel at the size of the wild area contained within routes 86 & 186 & 30...I've seen bears and deer and beavers and eagles on short walks inside this magic zone).
The cache is hidden along a publicly accessible snowmobile/skiing/hiking trail along a powerline right-of-way. The cache is on state forest preserve, but some of the woods near where you will park to get on the trail are private property, and are marked as such. Please be respectful, and stay on the right-of-way and off of private property.
The cache container is an ammo-can camouflaged to blend in with the environment, filled with a standard array of goodies.
