Geocache Description:

The cache is by a pleasant wooded footpath which runs along a ridge to the south of Waterford Heath and along the side of Great Mole Wood. There are lovely views over gentle Hertfordshire countryside.

Waterford Heath was formerly a sand and gravel extraction site - now a community nature park. The heath still shows signs of its industrial past, but it is surprisingly peaceful and is quickly being colonised by butterflies, wildflowers and birds.

You can park very close to this cache but access to the cache requires passing through a narrow gap in the fence.

At the time of writing the fence had fallen down in one place, but please avoid the temptation to take a shortcut this way.
