Geocache Description:

The above coords take you near the grave of Caspar and Philapena (Phoebe) Peter in the Hayes-Fearon Cemetery, Beech Creek, PA.

No graves need to be disturbed while looking.

Caspar and Phoebe Peter are my husbands' Great-Great Grandparents. They are the first Peter's to Beech Creek and are the ancestors to most of Beech Creek-ians. Take note of their last name. It is Peter. One of their 10 children got into an argument with another sibling and added the 's' to his last name so they were "not related". This happened frequently throughout history with different spellings for blood relatives. (this also occured as a result of immigration officials not being able to understand immigrants and just writing/spelling what name they heard, hence the many spellings we have today) FYI Our last name is Peters, but my husband has close relatives who are 'Peter'.
This cache is an easy find. Just park carefully along the road. The cemetary is on level ground. Open Dawn to Dusk. Please be sure to replace this cache carefully!
