Peconic River
canoe/kayak trip
June 16th at
11:00am.
We will be starting at the
DEC Connecticut Avenue Canoe Launch Site in Riverhead and headed
down to the vicinity of Peconic Avenue in Riverhead. We will meet
back up at 4:00pm at Roadhouse Brickoven Pizza. Anyone who
cannot make the paddle portion is welcome to join.
A few recommendations (thanks
Ray):
- We will need to setup a
shuttle of cars from the put-in at Connecticut Avenue to our final
destination. Hopefully we can end up with only 1 or 2 cars at
the start location.
- Everyone should wear some
form of shoes (water shoes, old sneakers, etc.). There are a
couple nice spots to get out and wade/swim but hooks and broken
glass could be on the bottom.
- Life jackets are strongly
recommended.

required at the Roadhouse to attend the event
