A Roy cache that is not in Roy's Redwoods.
The Roy Brothers lived by a duck pond on the site of today's golf course. But in addition to the Redwoods, Roy had a lot of property in the Valley. I can imagine Roy walking along this ridge and keeping his eye on things.
The cache is along the Dickson Ridge (Barnabe) Fire Road, which links Roy's Redwoods, the French Ranch preserve, and Samuel Taylor Park. Several years ago, property owners put up a large gate blocking the road between French Ranch and Roys Redwoods. It was very controversial, but the gate remains. Sometimes it is open, sometimes it is not. The official access to this area is now up through the French Ranch Fire Road.
