This cache has been archived.

The_Eh_theist: This one has been out for almost 2 years....I never was happy with it's placement, but I did like the history.

Thanks to all of those who took the time to check this one out.

Geocache Description:

There is nearby parking on Beaverdams Road.

This is a short little hike from parking, but depending on which way you approach the cache, it could be an easy hike or a difficult one. The approach I took had a piece of wood go right through the bottom of my shoe....but no damage done.

This location is significant due to it's history. When you get near to the cache location, it may just look like an inlet from the nearby lake. It is in fact the First Welland Canal!!!
The First Welland Canal, built in 1829 came right through the Marlatt's area and proceeded south towards Allanburg from here.
You can see some historical artifacts in the area...I personally saw an old light fixture!

There is no writing instrument in the cache, so please remember to bring your own.
