Not far from 1000 Feet Down is another great view that I missed. Thanks to Terry and the Gang for showing this to me.
So where am I you ask? You are in the Northwest corner of Clinton County looking north into Cameron County and down on Sinnemahoning Creek. As Moe 2 so profoundly described this place “ You know you are up high when you look down on the Buzzards.” Enjoy the view and stop by 1000 Feet Down also while you are in the area.
Be sure to look at the topo map in the document protector, along with the stashnote, to see just where you are standing.
Your journey will begin on the Quehanna Highway about 2 1/2 miles past Boot Camp. At the following coordinates. N 41.12.714 W078.09.935, you will turn on to a gravel road. Follow this road for 7.31 miles. The majority of the distance the road is graveled. There is a section in the middle that is not. Small cars will have to use caution on this section. The entire road is a Forest Service Road that is not maintained very well, especially in the spring. The entire road has potholes and washboard sections, but is drivable with most vehicles. Drive slowly. You should also be on the lookout for Deer, Turkey, Bear and if you are lucky an Elk.
At the Jerry Ridge Rd. you will turn left on a gravel road. The road is in good shape but it is a single lane road. In the remote possibility you should meet someone, don’t panic, be courteous, and take your time so one of you can get off enough for the other to pass. This is not a big deal and not meant to worry anyone but I just want you to be aware of it. Please park at the County Line Post on the Jerry Ridge Rd. It is only a short walk to the Cache and View.
