This cache is located at the Southwood Conservation area near Smithland, Iowa.
The cache is an ammo can located near a unique pedestrian suspension bridge spanning a gully. The bridge is a favorite of kids and adults and makes for a great picture. The hike from the parking spot to the cache is a little over half mile. The hike out is more difficult than the hike back. The parking coordinates are N 42 12.966 W 95 57.249. At the parking lot where you begin the hike, there is a small kiosk. Grab a self-guided hike brochure to identify interesting features along the way. The entire trail is gravel and mowed grass, no bushwacking here. There are over 5 miles of trails at this park. When replacing the cache, make sure it can't slide out of its place and get muggled.
