Geocache Description:

Situated on the King's Meads, Hertford. Access can be gained via level footpaths. There is a car park off Mead Lane.

The Meads is a large area of grazed riverside flood meadow that stretches from Hertford to Ware.

For centuries, the Meads was common land. In 1627 King Charles I sold the King's Meads to Hertford Corporation for £100. The commoner's rights to graze cattle were negated in 1972.

This is a small container which contains an assortment of items.
