Geocache Description:

To Find this cache, you'll need a water going vessel of some sort. You do not have to cross the shipping channel to get to this island, but still, please be careful.

Like the Fraygirls, we found that the numerous islands in the Cape Fear River make ideal locations for hiding caches! After finding two island caches hidden by the Fraygirls, the Real Boys did some exploring of their own and found an island practically screaming for someone to use it as a cache site. We named this small island Rebel Island, after what looked to be Civil War remains deep in its wooded center. Rebel Island is a short and fairly easy trip from the boat launching ramp of River Road Park, although the water may be too shallow for motor boating at low tide and finding a place to beach can be difficult at high tide. Once on the island, you will need to locate a rough path running from north to south. The cache is hidden in a small camouflaged container holding a pencil, logbook, and a few small toys. Good luck finding this Rebel Island Treasure!!! *I also think that everyone who find this cache, if the reach of their imagination (pause) is great enough, describe your story behind this island. When real boy #1 and real boy #2 placed this cache, they felt like they were breaching a rebel fortress, while the fighting had died down just long enough to complete their mission of placing the cache on the island. The forbodding rocks and many different terrains really makes it an inetesting place, so go ahead, even re-name the island if you like, but it would be interesting to hear theories behind this strange place.

****Congrats fraygirls for the FTF********
