Geocache Description:

Out caching the other day I wasn't listening to my gps and drove past the road I needed to turn on and very quickly started looking for a place to make a U-turn.

So, I find this niiiiice big turn out along the hwy (that surprisingly doesn't have a cache in it!) and just as I am about to take off in the right direction, I notice something familiar across the street. Now, back in the day I would have just zipped past without another thought, but I'm a cacher now and I'm always on the lookout for a place to take a walk and possibly drop a cache. I take some coords and decide to come back with Gordy and the dogs for a more thorough inspection.

Today seemed like a wonderful day for a walk in the woods and I know I should have gone to Camano to clean out the last stragglers that I haven't logged in the Forest Preserve, but curiosity got the best of me and before you know it we have an ammo can in the backpack and are merrily on our way.

We arrive at the trailhead, park and get our gear together. There is only one other car in the pullout and it's sporting a "mountain-man rescue" sticker so we're feeling pretty good. I mean, it's obviously a real trail - even though I can't find any info about it online or find it on my maps.

Anyway, we take off and, I'll be straight with you, this trail is steep. Oh, sure here and there it mellowed a bit, but for the most part it's a pretty solid uphill climb. That means that the terrain rating is really only a guideline since it'll vary depending on the season and the recent weather. Use your own judgment and come prepared.

Eager with anticipation of what lies at the end of the trail, I kept hoping to find something spectacular right around the next corner. And really, I was hoping for a great view, because after all that uphill work I felt I deserved that, at least.

Finally, we get to what we think is the end of the trail and instead of the view I hoped for we find that we climbed an access point to a whopper of a trail neither of us knew about. We were both amazed, and couldn't decide which way to go, so we stopped for a rest and after checking the time we started realizing we were short on time if we intended to get back for our daughter's soccer game (we did) so we decided to hide our cache there. It is our biggest wish that future cachers will go a little further and help to populate this trail with more great caches, now that we've seeded it and shown you the way.

The satts are typically tiresome and I'm sure I couldn't get a fabulous set of coords, but this isn't supposed to be difficult so I'll tell you to look at the base of a tree, under a fern. Feel free to post better coords.
