Geocache Description:

Moorland paths with some steep sections. Can be boggy and streams to be crossed.

This cache is hidden on a recognised walk to the Gowk Stane from the Mugdock Country Park Visitor Centre car park.
En route you pass The Abies or Dumbrock Loch which has been a favourite local swimming pool for years. In the 1950's Charlie the Elephant from Craigend Zoo took his weekly bath here.
The Gowk Stane is a big boulder that was carried along by the glaciers that carved out the Blane Valley and was dumped here when the ice melted.
Once you have found the cache, if you continue east a short distance and look north through the trees, you'll spy the Gowk Stane.
