Geocache Description:

Das Boot - (noun) a 22 foot boat hull. Often spoken while sweating buckets, after a long day of trash collecting in South Florida.
Das Boot is obviously not the English derivative of the word meaning boat. At the time of this listing, we have successfully traced its origin back to a tribe named ObJets.

The story of Das Boot On April 14, 2007, 28 Cachers got together for a Cito event. "Its an easy clean up", the event planner said. Dressed for the weather and NOT the terrain, the fearless cachers set off on their journey. Young and old worked together. Hauling tires, lawnmowers, cans, glass bottles, paper, carpet and then finally the mother load of the day; a 22 foot boat hull out of the Shrimpers Canal trail. The cachers came - arriving well before enough coffee and juice had been consumed. The cachers saw - a need for a beautiful area with great hiking potential that had been used as a dump site for some not so nice muggles. Then the cachers conquered - pulled muscles, scratched arms, gashed legs aside, the SoFlo crew made a huge impact that day. OB Jets drove down from Broward to be tortured by the crew. In his logs of the event, he dubbed that boat hull - you guessed it - "Das Boot". It may have been delirium. It may have been an extreme case of dehydration. Maybe it was just the effect that the black hole had on him. In any case...we christen thee "Das Boot"

Large Lock in Lock just off the trail. "Nice easy" hike. :) While you are hiking back to the location, please make note of how clean this area is. It is a frequent dump spot for the area but our caching group made a huge impact in 1 single day. CITO on your way in and out is appreciated. :)
