THE CACHE IS NOT AT THE POSTED COORDINATES. These coordinates will place you in a good location to park your vehicle while you search for the cache.
The cache is hidden in another area of Sherwood Park I never knew existed until I started geocaching. It is a small camouflaged match stick container.
So for my first puzzle cache I figured we would try something involving another game - Scrabble. To find the actual location of the cache all you need to do is decode the following words and substitute into the following:
N 53 AA.BB0’ W 113 CC.6DD’
Here are the words from an excellent game of Scrabble:
AA: locknlock – 4th letter is on a triple point square!
BB: logbook – 4th letter is on a triple point square and its also a triple word score – excellent!
CC: geocache – no bonuses on this one.
DD: query – 2nd letter is on a triple point square and its also a triple word score – good one!
Each word will decode into a score with two numbers, substitute directly into the coordinates in the appropriate locations. Note - there is no 50 point bonus for using all your letters.
There are several homes backing onto the park so some stealth may be required.
Please take care in re-hiding the cache.
