This cache is located in the newest Frederick County Park, Utica District Park. We have received approval from the parks dept to place this cache. You should wear long pants as this cache is located in the wilderness; hence, the name. There are thorns along the unmarked path to the tb lodge. The cache is hidden in such a way that if there should be flooding from the stream, it will not get wet.
This is a Square, clear Lock N Lock Container located in Utica Park, which covers 257 acres of county-owned land between U.S. Route 15 and Old Frederick Road, south of Thurmont. The first phase cost $4 million and took 12 months to build. The park had the official ribbon cutting ceremony on April 26, 2007.
The park boasts a close-up view of Catoctin Mountain to the west as well as a brand-new, 300-capacity picnic shelter with five rotating grills, still shining with silver paint. The view to the east is 50 acres of thick woods.
It has several baseball fields that will be available for use 7/2/07. It has a paved walking trail and playground equipment. It is an awesome park for the whole family. It is dog friendly. Of course, pets must be on a leash. There are handicap accessible port-a-johns. Nice park to take a walk and kick the soccer ball or play some catch in the open field inside the paved walking trail.

Please only take a bug if you have one to leave, or if you leave two you may take two, etc. Unless the Hotel is full then please help move the TBs along. Just please don't leave any other swag... just Tbs and geocoins.
1) All bugs & coins must register upon entering the hotel. They must always be logged out upon check out. There is a log-book in the hotel for this purpose.
2) Only travel bugs or geocoins are allowed in the hotel, this cache is for the sole purpose of getting travel bugs and coins to their destinations.
3) All bugs must be entered on www.geochaching.com as soon as possible as not to worry their owners.
4) We don't rent rooms by the hour!! (hehehehe)
5) This lodge is open during park hours only. 4/1- 10/31 8am until 10 pm. 11/1- 3/31 8 am until Sunset.
6) Log your first visit to the lodge as a "Found" and any subsequent visits to the cache to drop off or pick up other travel bugs as a "Note"
7) PLEASE RETURN CACHE TO ITS ORIGINAL HIDING PLACE!!!!!
8) IF YOU ARE GOING TO TAKE MORE THAN ONE BUG, YOU MUST NOT TAKE MORE THAN ONE ADDITIONAL BUG THAN YOU ARE LEAVING. i.e TAKE 2, LEAVE 1. DO NOT TAKE 2, LEAVE 0!!!! We want there to always be at least 1 resident of our lodge to keep an eye on the place.
We will from time to time check the inventory and try to move a Travel Bug/Geocoin to a new hotel or cache to help him on his way.
I hope this lodge will be a fun cache. The lodge is not far from the parking area. Add this cache to your watch list to keep tabs on bugs that you may help along!!
