Geocache Description:

Many, many years ago this area used to be home to a large number of Native Americans. The valley was green with trees, plants, and cacti. The area was abundant with animal life including huge fish that lived in the mighty San Pedro river. The river began to dry up over the years and the Native Americans moved on. All the fish died in the dried up river bed but legend has it that one species of fish was able to evolve and live in this new environment.
Locals have named this fish the San Pedro Sand Shark. Little is known about the Sand Shark and few people have actually seen one. Most fish move about by swimming in any water source available but in an area where there is little to no water around these Sand Sharks have adapted to the surroundings and are rumored to move around by Dust Devil.
While searching for this cache keep your eyes open and you may be one of the lucky few who actually see a real Sand Shark. Who knows you may be the first to ever catch one on film.

This unique cache container was won at the AJACS Event Cache and was generously donated by Panda77. This cache was placed on private property with owners permission. No fences to cross / No river access.
