This "bash" will take place in the Red Lyon at
Slinfold at 5pm on Sunday 17 June. The pub, which has a
magnificantly large (and child/dog friendly) garden, is open
all day and serves food all day.
A large number of caches have been set within a reasonable
distance of the pub. We hope that cachers will take advantage of a
summer Sunday to do some caching and then meet afterwards. If,
however, you just want to meet for a drink and a chat you are
equally welcome.
The fourteen
caches set for this event (see below) will, all being well,
be released around breakfast time on the 17th. Each cache setter
has put a letter/number clue in their cache(s) that will help you
decode the co-ordinates for the bonus cache.
The starter cache GC13GJN - Sussex Wheel Ready Steady Go! -
contains 50 geocaching pins. Please will you take just one pin per
account (there may be some left over later in day) and wear it so
that people will recognise you as a fellow cacher. Please will you
also log the time you arrived so that we all know who is out and
about.
For those of you who can stay out late(!) there is an exciting
night cache. The bonus letter for this will be in the starter cache
on the 17th only so that those who need to leave the pub early are
not excluded from finding the bonus cache.
There are a number of other caches within very close proximity of
the pub; why not use the co-ordinates at the top of this page to
centre a search.
At the heart of the caching area is another fine Sussex pub - The
Blue Ship. It is rumoured that a few cachers might be taking
refreshment there at lunchtime if all that exercise has given you a
thirst!
