An exhilarating hike with fantastic views.
Welcome to Giuffrida Park, home to a growing number of caches. This is perhaps my favorite park to hike in, and it also has the distinction of being the location of my first cache find, which was a SkyTrek cache. Kind of strange that it took me until now to place a cache here.
Although a part of the scenic view is being encroached upon by a trap rock operation, in every other direction the views go on and on. The Bradley Hubbard reservoir adds that little bit more to make this one of the prettiest views in Meriden. The cache was placed before sunup on a Sunday morning and the view was outstanding. I’ve only done this hike backwards (in my opinion) once, and that was during that first cache. I believe this hike is best done by getting the difficult climb out of the way, resting at the top while you’re taking in the views. After that initial heart pounding, I’m sure you’ll agree with me….or not.
There are hints given for each stage if you need it. Stage 1 has been difficult for most, and stage 2 has been changed to be just a little harder than the original. At least people won't jamm their hands inside.
The prize here is in the view and the great exercise you’ll be getting. Enjoy, and let me know what you think!
