Bishop Lake Overlook Traditional Cache
South Lyon Trekkers: I came out today with Adventure Dog to pick up may caches in BSRA. These caches have been here a while and the area has changed quite a bit. These were some of the first caches I put out and I remember the hikes to them being somewhat long and tiring. They seemed pretty quick today and not as tiring. This cache had a good run, but it is farther from home than I care to maintain. A good park though. -SLT

This geocache is located in Brighton State Recreation Area. The area is OPEN TO HUNTING. A Recreation Passport or day pass is required for entry. The park is open from 8:00 AM to 10:00 PM. The geocache is located on the Bishop Lake Hiking Trail. A trailhead waypoint is provided. Parking is available and a waypoint is provided. A permit for the geocache was obtained.
This geocache was placed to help promote geocaching during the DNR's Spring Fling event held on May 6, 2007. This geocache was one of the first to be placed under the new agreement between the DNR and the Michigan Geocaching Organization (MiGO) which allowed MiGO members to place geocaches in state parks without a permit fee.
The geocache is located just off the Bishop Lake Hiking Trail. When the cache was placed, the trail did not exist. Access to the geocache was by deer trail from the bottom of the hill. The Bishop Lake Hiking Trail is a wide gravel trail that passes across the top of the hill. Getting to the geocache requires diverting off the trail and down the hill. There is now some bushwhacking involved to get to the geocache.
The geocache is a bread loaf sized, clear, Lock & Lock container with some camouflaged duct tape. It was well stocked. Please trade fairly.
