There can be many muggles at times. The cache has been stolen
before so please be careful.
You can do this cache any time however the museum is open
Sundays from 2:00 to 4:00 and Tuesdays from 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. The
reconstructed one-room school house is open the same hours in the
summer. The schoolmarm is a very pleasant woman who has lived some
of the history.
You may find it handy to take pencil and paper, and of course
this description. There are a number of waypoints but they all are
in the space of about an acre so it won’t take too long.
Near the first waypoint you will see a historical informational
sign. Take the number of the century that had the growth in bands
and add 2 to that. Add the result to the North component. Count the
number of letters in 5th word and add that to the West component.
These two new numbers will give you waypoint #2. You might find it
easier to add the numbers to your actual reading instead of the
coordinates given above. For continued accuracy this might work
well at each waypoint.
Please stay on the paths (with the exception of the cache).
There is no need to go into the cemetery.
At WP2 you will find another informational sign. (There are 13,
and no you don’t have to visit them all but you may want to.)
Add the digits in the second date listed together. For example 2007
would equal 9. Add the result to the N component. Add the digits in
the first date listed together. Add that result to the result from
the second date that you used for the N component. Subtract that
total result from the W component. For example if the date was 2006
that totals 8 which gets added to the 9 from the first example for
17.
From here on each next waypoint builds from the current one and
gets calculated from your current position.
At WP3 add the digits of the 5th date listed together. Subtract
that from both the N & W component.
At WP4 add the digits of the 2nd and 3rd dates listed together.
To that add the number of early settlers who are buried in the
cemetery. Subtract that from the N component. Add the digits of the
last date listed together. Double that. Add that to the W
component.
At WP5 add the digits of he 2nd date listed together. Subtract
that from the N component. Add the digits of the 1st and 2nd dates
listed together. Add one to that. Subtract that total from the W
component.
At WP6 how many types of trees are listed in the first and last
paragraphs? You are standing that many feet from the cache.
