Geocache Description:

NOTE: DO NOT GO TO THE LISTED COORDINATES. GO TO N 39° 46.038', W 084° 11.200'.

This is a four-stage multi with an extra large final. You will have to find a series of numbers at each of the first three stages to find the next stage, and the code numbers needed at the final. You may get wet at stages two and three and these stages are not available in times of high water. Stages one and three may be considered somewhat dangerous. Please look for the final during daylight hours only.&

Stage 1 - Malfunction

CONSTRUCTION UPDATE: OCTOBER 30, 2008, THE ORIGINAL STAGE 1 IS NOW GONE. I hope the new I-75 bridge includes a pedestrian walkway like the original so I can put it back like the way it was originally.

GO TO N 39° 46.038', W 084° 11.200' INSTEAD. This is a temporary location about a half mile south of the original first stage.

A third river, the Mad is added to the mix, and you will find this stage in the middle. There is plenty of parking on both sides of the Mad River. This one is easier to find than the original, but you will have to do a little math. You are looking for a series of characters starting with D and with four digits below, like this:

D
(A)____
(B)____
(C)____
(E)____

Insert the numbers found in the following to find stage two, and be sure to retain the extra numbers for use at the final.

N 39° 4(A+E).(C)(A+A)(B/2)’, W 084° (A-A)(A+E).(A)(E)(C)’ Extra #s (A+A)(B)

N 39° 4____.____ ____ ____’, W 084° ____ ____.____ ____ ____’ Extra #s ____ ____

Stage 2 – Well, Well, Well

There are a variety of ways to get to this stage. Suggested parking is at the west end of the Needmore Road Bridge. A new bike trail at the southwest side of the bridge is the easiest way to start out.

A strange place for one of these. If the Miami River is running less than 500 cfs you should be able to get this one with dry feet. At 700 cfs some wading is required. It is recommended that you not attempt if river is running over 1000 cfs. Gage is available at:

http://waterdata.usgs.gov/oh/nwis/uv/?site_no=03263000& amp;PARAmeter_cd=00065,00060,00010

The river bottom can change during high water and the above guidelines may become inaccurate.

Insert the numbers found in the following to find stage three, and be sure to retain the extra number for use at the final.

N 39° 4___ . ___ ___ ___’, W 084° ___ ___ . ___ ___ ___’ Extra # ___

Stage 3 – Arch Enemy

This stage has a nice parking lot near the cache. This unusual bridge took two extra years and cost much more than the original estimates to complete, due to the arch design. High water may be a problem here also, but if you were able to get Stage 2 this one should be available also. Insert the numbers found in the following to find the final stage, and be sure to retain the extra number.

N 39° 4___ . ___ ___ ___’, W 084° 1 ___ . ___ ___ ___’ Extra # ___

Stage 4 – Final. No night caching please.

IT IS NOT THE REFLECTOR. Please do not remove the reflector. You are looking for a card with with directions to the final and what to do with the extra numbers. Be careful of the bolts protruding inside the cache. Please replace the cache and card as you found them.
