Geocache Description:

This is a TACKLE EXCHANGE cache. It requires a short (about 1 km) hike along the Centennial Trail between Lock 8 and 9 of the Trent-Severn Waterway.

Although other "fish" related items could be exchanged this is primarily a cache to exchange new and like-new small fishing tackle/lures/gear. **NO SCENTED BAITS OR LURES.**

To get to the cache you will travel along the Centennial Trail. This is a pedestrian trail adjacent to the Trent River. The full legnth of the trail from Lock 8 to Lock 9 is about 1.6 km. You will be afforded lovely views of Murray Marsh and the wetlands of Percy Reach. The wetlands will be of particular interest to birders - bring your binoculars!

There are two parking options. I suggest parking at Lock 8 (Percy Reach) and walking north to the cache. It is a hike of about 0.92 km from this parking area. There is great shore fishing here and bathrooms are available seasonally. This parking area states NO PARKING and NO FISHING from 2300h to 0600h. Please respect the signage.

Alternately, you can park at Lock 9 (Meyers) and walk south about 1.18 km. (This is also the starting point for a multi-cache heading in a different direction.)

If you are not interested in exchanging tackle you are more than welcome to enjoy the trail and waterways and sign the logbook. Cache-In, Trash-Out, as always, is encouraged. Enjoy!

UPDATE!! May 20, 2012: I no longer live in this area and would greaty appreciate someone adopting this cache. I can no longer check or maintain this cache. If interested, please email me directly at j.devillier@yahoo.com. Thanks.
