Geocache Description:

A bit of historical proofreading required to find this one-step multi.

The cache is not at the above location, but the above location is where you will start your hunt.

To find this cache, you will first have to go plaque hunting in Queens Garden. With at least two dozen plaques around this small place, this must be one of the more historical places in Brisbane!

However, Queens Garden is actually relatively modern, having only existed in its complete form since 1962, when the CIB building in the north east corner was demolished, allowing the garden to take up the entire square. Parts of the garden have existed since 1904 when the old church buildings where demolished. More information is available at EPA Queenslands website: Queens Gardens.

On to the cache hunt:

I have put a small selection of the many plaques below, with a letter for each. To find the final cache you will have calculate the value of each letter based on errors in my transcription of the plaques. To make things easier there will only be two types of errors that count: a single incorrect digit, or missing consecutive words. Any misspellings or other typos are unintentional on my part.

The value for each letter/plaque, is either the correct digit (the one on the plaque), or in the case of missing words, the number of words from the plaque missing in the transcription.

To make things nastier, one or more of the transcriptions below might have no errors. In that case the value would be zero.

So off you go, find the plaques and correct the errors...

To get the final coordinates, you will need to calculate the following:

W = B + E

X = C - A

Y = D - F + B

Z = A + C - D

And the final coordinates will be S27 28.WXZ E153 01.WYY.

Happy hunting, and please be stealthy.
