Mojave Road

One of
many reason I love living in this area is the Mojave Road. Most of
us local Geo-cachers have spent many hours traveling on and
exploring it's many wonders. I also find the history of the road
just as intriguing as the beauty. A quote from the intro to a book
about the road, written by Dennis Casebier, says: "Mojave Road
Guide - An adventure through time. Explore the route used by
pioneers on their way to California. The Mojave Road lets your SUV
act as a time machine, guiding you on a trail that stretches for
138 miles through country virtually unchanged since prehistoric
times." That pretty much says it all. A fun and historic area to
have many adventures. I decided to continue with my "Lookout" theme
and found a great place to watch all the wagon trains and animals
that travel up and down this trail. WARNING! The climb is mostly
shale and is very loose. Good hiking boots and not tennis shoes are
highly recommended! 4X4 also recommended. Cache is a camo’ed
wrapped plastic jar filled with fun stuff and a FTF Fiver…aka…DCF!
