Geocache Description:

Welcome to Red Kite Country.

Gwesty Nyth Barcud - Red Kite's Guest Nest

This cache is situated just off the A487 with spectacular views across the Ystwyth Valley.

All Travellers and Coins welcome. NB: The Red Kite lives in this cache and is not a traveller. Please do not remove from the cache. You can hear the call of the Red Kite by pressing the base. If you look into the skies around you, you may well see the real thing. They are distinguishable by their forked tails.

RULES OF THE CACHE: PLEASE READ
This is not an ordinary cache and none of these items are swaps.

Please do not remove them unless you intend to log them online and move them on to another cache.

Please do not empty the cache. There should always be at least one "guest in the nest."

Play fair, if you are not able to help with the mission of the trackables, please just "discover" them and leave for others to enjoy/move along.

By taking a trackable item you agree to log your find online and place it in another cache.

When adding or removing TBs and Coins please list them BY NAME in the logs, so that correct records can be maintained and save any confusion.

ALL ITEMS IN THIS CACHE REMAIN THE PROPERTY OF THE REGISTERED OWNERS.

Thank you for your visit and enjoy your stay in Red Kite Country.

Directions: From the roundabout at Southgate, Aberystwyth, follow the sign to Devils Bridge and turn immediately right onto the B4340. At the sign for Nanteos Mansion, turn left down a narrow lane.

The cache is a small ammo box hidden in ivy at the base of a tree, on a bank.

Please take care to replace it securely so that it does not fall into the road.

If you continue down this lane there are two small Wildlife Trust Nature Reserves just before Nanteos. One of them is home to the largest tree in Ceredigion, a Giant Seqouia. Here you may sit under the trees and watch squirrels, maybe see otters, woodpeckers, Jay and many other bird species.
