What's At Stake? Traditional Cache

This cache has been archived.

Family Debris: With the trains running again, I just don't feel comfortable with leaving the hide here or any where near active tracks. I'll have to place another hide someplace else to make up for this loss. It was great fun while it lasted!!

Geocache Description:

My first solo hide! Can you say easy? I know easy!

*Lions and Tigers and Bears, OH MY!...
Ok, maybe just the bear, but still Oh My. Since a bear has been spotted near the cache I wanted to make sure everyone seeking it is aware. Thank you longriderss for letting us know and I hope you get another chance to find this one with one fewer friend.*

In the town of Whitefield there are a set of balls. They are very unique and deserve some attention. They were placed in 1875 and are the only known of their kind in New England. This is a nice and very fun bit of history.

Parking is right of the road near a RR switch hut. The area is very flat but there are lots of tracks, some covered in weeds and dirt, so watch your step. The container is large and stuffed with some fun items, mostly kid stuff as the kids helped me put it together.

Please don't enter the switch hut. Someone has broken the door but there is a lock and respect is the Geocaching way. We also removed two full bags of trash from the area. I left some extra bags in the cache so feel free to help keep the area clean. It's pretty open but we've been here many times and never gotten funny looks (and that is saying a lot for us).

A plus is a waymarker near the bridge. Like I said, it's a neat little place to explore! I hope you enjoy it as much as we do and be sure to rehide well.
