SQ – Clinton Grove Multi-Cache

The SQ in the cache name above signifies Spirit Quest, a project to distinguish those caches that are set in cemeteries or memorial gardens. I feel this is a good distinction to put on this type of cache and would like to see it used here in Michigan. Please be respectful of the area, and observe their rules and posted hours, Michigan law states that you are only permitted to visit cemeteries dawn to dusk through out the state unless other hours are posted.

This is a great old cemetery with lots of Mt. Clemens history. This cemetery is also on the National List of Historical Places. The cache is a 3 stage multi with the final being a mid size plastic peanut butter jar. Each stage will have you doing simple math so some may still want to bring paper and a calculator. The first stage is the Michigan historical marker at the entrance of the cemetery. The second stage is some Macomb county history.

Stage 1 you will need to read the historical marker. You are looking for two dates.
1. About what year was the caretaker’s house built? Add this to N42 34.284
2. What year was the office building built? Add this to W082 52.295

Stage 2 you will find 2 dates there as well. You will be subtracting the first from the north and the second from the west co-ords below.
