Geocache Description:

The cache IS at the posted coordinates. The puzzle is inside the cache. You MUST SIGN LOG to get your smiley for this cache.

I REPEAT: The cache IS at the posted coordinates. The puzzle is inside the cache. You MUST SIGN LOG to get your smiley for this cache.

Please be gentle with the cache the puzzle is fragile and the spring can break.

The cache is at the top of a short climb up a very steep driveway/easement. The closest access is at the end of Heatherstone Dr.. There is a little used pedestrian access there to Big Rock Ridge. You start out in what looks like a private driveway but look for the Public Open Space signs. Climb to the top of the paved driveway (it's steep), and you'll see some great views right before you get to the water tower. It is not meant to be a hard find, but the difficulty level is for the puzzle inside the cache.

Remember to get credit for this cache you must sign the log. The log is stuck inside a clear box with a 3 dimensional maze inside. To open the box you must navigate a small ball bearing through the maze and into the correct position, before pressing the button that springs the log out. The puzzle took me at least 15 minutes before I could do it the first time, and I had seen a similar puzzle before, so plan on being here for at least that long. For some it may take longer for some maybe shorter. I mention this because I would not attempt this at night or in the rain, you will likely need to spend some time at the cache site. When you are finished with the puzzle MAKE SURE YOU PUT THE BALL BEARING BACK AT THE STARTING POINT. The ball will simply fall into the starting position when you open the box, however it is easy to jiggle it into the wrong spot when retrieving the log. The starting position is also indicated by a BLACK ARROW which is located near the metal sping.

Please Remember: Please be gentle with the cache the puzzle is fragile and the spring can break.

There is a fin, cinco, lincoln, five dollar bill for the FTF. Or if you prefer you can take the buddah for the STF. Also, I put in a DTB and, as always, some other swag I've collected while geo-caching. \
