il Mercato is an interesting new shopping centre,
that should enrich spectrum of services in the area between Sharm
el Sheik´s Old Market and Naama bay.
Its expressive architecture is partially breathtaking and partially
corny. The all-new complex resembles palaces of ancient sheikhs and
sultans.
Contrastive to that is the composition of shops, cafés and similar
facilities. You can find Adidas, Reebok, Levi´s, and even KFC and
Mac Donald´s.
And yes, dear Simpsons fans, I found the sign "Comming soon -
Starbucks coffee" :) Calm, "western" il Mercato seems to cleverly
complement the oriental Old Market and Las Vegas stylled Naama bay.
We shall see after it gets fully operational.
The cache spot is in view from the main il Mercato
enterance, distanced some 100 meters or so. Hopefully, they will
not build another hotel between them soon, so the visual connection
remains intact. Although the hiding place is somewhat shielded from
the curious eyes, remain careful. And be especialy cautious when
crossing the street, locals drive pretty fiercely ;)
Cache size is a smaller regular, as I used the diving goggles case.
The case is wrapped in a plastic bag.

Small note on cache maintenance: A local hotel
employee will provide limited maintenance (contact info on file
with geocaching.com) but please, be so kind and participate
concerning maintenance, if you can. In the first place, there is
only one pencil in the cache, so I kindly ask you to bring pencil
sharpener - which I couldn´t get hold of, and maybe a ballpen -
which I forgot to add :)
