Come down to the Fort St. George in Cambridge
on Saturday July 28th for a friendly afternoon of caching fun.
Mr & Mrs LeadMagnet will both be around from 11.00 onwards,
armed with name badges and the latest print-outs. If the
weather's nice, we'll be outside; if not, look for the soaking
wet couple shivering at the bar.
Caches
We'll be placing an all-new, extra-evil LeadMagnet special
puzzle cache just for the occasion, as well as some new regulars
along the river trail. Containers will be in place by 10.00. Check
out the bookmark list for nearby caches.
Food
The Fort St. George serves food of varying sorts from
11.00-21.00, or you can picnic on Midsummer Common right outside
the pub garden.
Getting there
If you come in the morning, there's generally parking available
at the nearby Grafton Centre, or you can avoid the insanity of
Cambridge traffic with the Park
and Ride buses, which also stop there. As an added bonus, you
can do one of the Park and Hide cache series, if you haven't
already.
The
University of Cambridge Official Map shows the Grafton Centre
and the footpaths up to the Fort St. George. Walk across Midsummer
Common towards the footbridge to the west of the "College
Boathouses" text in the river. The pub is just west of the
footbridge.
Sadly we lack an Anti-Caching guide, but hopefully someone will
come along to rally the troops for a solid afternoon's shopping and
sight-seeing.
