Geocache Description:

A short walk on a long pier. (Better than the other way around).

The former cache kept disappearing so I decided to do something different. This naughty cache could be hard or easy depending. It's within 3ft of my old cache.

It's great to have a pier in a little city like Hueneme. It seems that there always someone fishing on it, 24/7. Hueneme Beach is probably one of the less used beaches in southern California. My wife and I used to live in Surfside Apartments on the beach side and it was a great place to live so my wife wanted to place a cache nearby. There is wonderful seafood restaurant on the beach so enjoy yourself while you are down here.

I wanted to place one on the pier for awhile now. I actually placed one farther out a couple of weeks ago and it seemed to have lasted (except someone took the log out). Anyway I was afraid some kid would lean over too far so I moved it inland.

Pay parking is right off the pier. Or if you have two people, you can keep one person in the car while the other gets the cache. Or you can park about one block away on Ventura Ave for free. The best way to get to the cache is to take a bike. Avoid the parking ticket. It's about $75 the last time I had to pay one.

Have fun in the sun.
