Geocache Description:

You are looking for a white 5 gallon bucket with a lid, inside a vault. Numerous goodies abound.

This cache is in an old abandoned battery vault, formerly used by the United States Geological Service to hold 6 car batteries which powered a seismometer which used to be located on the hill directly across the valley, near the water tank. There was an antenna near the vault, This setup was once part of the Parkfield Project, now long forgotten, as the USGS moves on to another phase. If you look at the deep ditch across the road from the cache, the white areas you see on the hillside mark the San Andreas Fault. Don't mind the nearby ranch, the owner is cacher friendly.
